This is what I read for this day.
Can Money Buy Happiness?
The title of the old Americn movie 'Poor little rich girl' answers the question. It is true that at weddings we often hear the newluweds toasted in the words 'Health, Wealth and Hapiness' , but the epithet itself distinguishes berween the three objectives. The fact is that you can be both happy and healthy and poor, by normal standards, at the same time. Yet if you are unhappy, money can only cure your misery in some circumstances. And if you have an incurable illness no amount of money can buy the treatment to reverse that condition.
Most people would accept that the human being is a composite of body, mind and spirit. Each of those parts has separate needs which must be fulfilled if happiness is to result. This fulfilment is most often, though not always, achieved through the love and companionship found in a good marriage. The newlyweds referred to above may start out together with few possesions and little money and still be blissfully happy. Body, mind and spirit are fulfilled. Yet marital happiness is not a static thing. As the couple grow older they change, and happiness has to be constantly worked for if it is to mature into lifelong love and friendship. Sadly enough the divorce rate in the west shows that many couples lack that incentive, and are not prepared to show the unselfishhness and willingness to put the needs of each other first, necessary if happiness is to last. Very often, this process of alienation goes on at the very time when the couple are getting past their money problems. when the pennies no longer have to be counted.
this situation is highlighted when money never has been a problem lem, as in the case of some of the British royal family. Differences in outlook, i.e. in mind and spirit, sever relationships most effectively. Whereas one roral, for instance, was interested only in farming and country pursuits, the wife, some years ago, decided to devote her life to ' Save the Children' . Money never entered the equation. They are permanently separated. Mind and spirit had grown apart.
If 'old' money can be irrelevant, 'new' money can be a positive menace. Every week in England somebody becomes a sterling millionaire having entered a winning football pool forecast. More often than not, the winner's cry is ' spend, spend, spend!' and the money soon goes. In the process, homes shatter, bad relationships are formed, drugs and alcohol are abused, and often the winner ends up with nothing.
So at least this can be said. Money itself is neutral. The ideal is wise stewardship, i.e. its proper use, which generally means making one's existing lifestyle more comfortable, but using excess icome for charitable purposes. Money should not be seen as the key to luxury and self-indulgence. Money is not the root of all evil, but the correct version is true enoguth; 'the love fo money is the root of all evil' ( Christian New Testament ). The love of money is a cold, alienating obseession. Was Howard Hughes a happy man?

How Does Children Spend Their Time?
Hello good afternoon, now is 1.38pm saturday
I would like to share with you guys what I had been seen a essay....
"how does children spend their time?"
I very agree what they're telling us...
Children today spend hours in front of the television playing video games. Video games were first introduced in the 1970s, but it wasn't until the 1980s that they became very popular. A recent study shows that the two most preferred categories are games that involve martial arts and sports. If we take a look at some of the games available, we will see that many of them have violence as the underlying theme.
What makes these games so popular? According to experts, these games allow children to be destructive without fear of being reprimanded. Recent psychological experiments have shown that playing these violent games stimulates at least slight cruelty in children and adults, too. It increases aggressive behaviour. Another effect of the violence in these video games is that it can desensitise children to violence. It can give them the idea that violence is an acceptable way to deal with problems and conflict.
However, not everyone views video games negatively. Some people believe that it is better for a child to actively play video games than to passively watch television. Speculations have also been made by some professionals who claim that by playing video games, certain children can develop a sense of proficency which they might not otherwise achieve, Some video games have educational value. Some progrms are designed to allow children to explore different places or environments while others are developed to teach and drill specific facts or academic skills.
As a leisure activity, playing such games can be fun, challenging, exciting and it is also a part of a "kid's world". When a child owns a PC or a video game system, it opens up opportunities for him or her to invite other kids to play, therefore, enhancing or forming friendships.
So, what can parents do? Parents should limit playing time as well as minitor their children's game selection according to developmental level and game content. While playing video games is fun, it can be addictive. Thus, it is important or parents to draw the line, Take them outside and involve them in other acivities. Set aside a quiet time for reeading. Parents should also set the example. They should not use video games as babysitters. Parents and professionals should also seek creative and availability of games that are relatively pro-social, educational and fun.
In recent years, computer games have attracted much attention. There have been questions raised on whether computer games have had negative effects on children or whether society has oveerreacted. Thus, the potential effects should be looked into.

Is Being Good Enough!?
Yesterday I heard my friends who are camping with me telling that I'm a good person because I do a lot of nice things and stuff. But really, when I seat back and reflect upon my soul and consider, I'm not even the slightest good person I can look for. Sure there are some qualities that I am proud of. But, if I were to continue on my road on leading a purposeful life which is one that has to be constantly growing and improving myself, I'm no where near there.
When examining myself, I still lie, cheat, get angry easily at some people and still do all sort of things, all these are not the good attitude. Of course some people might say, "Don't be too hard on yourself, not everyone is perfect," as Im christian roman catholic, Jesus teach me to being polite and " forgive people who hurt you "
The problem is that, too many people are out there waiting to be saved. But, what is the point of going to them and telling all the "nice" words to them about Christ and how we try to live Christ-like when I still am not right with my walk with God. It's the whole point of being a hypocrite that hinders me as a Christian who is supposes to live like Him but not Him. I still remember the words from Pastor Edmund Chan during the Discipleship Conference. He says "People love Jesus Christ, but not many are like Jesus Christ." These words alone just shake me. As everyday, when I walk out the doors of my room or even being in my room I need to remember that I am watched not by God, but also the people around me.
You see, it is tough to be a Christian. Even with all the blessings that may come from God, it does come with a price. As I remember reading in the Old Testament. God will only bless the children of Israel when they follow and obey his commandments. If not, He will send curses that will not only effect me but until my children's children. This alone shows that in order to get the blessings that I want from God, I must first put right with myself.

_______________________________________________________________________________
The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling like thunder now
As I look in your eyes
I hold on to your body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake
(first chorus)
'Cause I am your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can
Lost is how I'm feeling lying in your arms
When the world outside's too
Much to take
That all ends when I'm with you
Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side
(repeat first chorus)
(second chorus)
We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love
The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear
Suddenly the feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away
(repeat first chorus)
(repeat second chorus)
